First 24 hours after the Teeth Extraction Procedure:
- Bite on the cotton firmly for 30 minutes.
- Have something cold such as ice cream, juice, or milkshakes (without straw).
- Start with the prescribed medications.
- Apply an ice pack to the cheek at regular intervals (10 minutes every 1 hour).
- Eat only after the anesthesia effect has worn off.
- Consume soft, cold, and bland food or liquids.
- Avoid hot, hard, and spicy food.
- Do not spit, gargle, or rinse.
- Do not brush on the extraction site or stitches.
After 24 hours of the Teeth Extraction Procedure:
- You can start with your regular diet (including hot fluids).
- You can start brushing but avoid the surgery area for at least 7 days or as instructed by your doctor.
- Use lukewarm salt water rinses 5–6 times daily to keep the site clean.
General Instructions:
- Do not sleep on the affected side.
- Do not smoke or consume alcohol till you are on medications.
- Do not touch the extraction site with your tongue or fingers.
- Return to the clinic after 7 days for suture removal (if given).
- Contact your doctor if pain increases, or if there is swelling or fever.
- Report immediately if bleeding does not stop or if there is any allergic reaction to prescribed medicines.
