Dental Xray

Dental xrays are one of the diagnostic aids required to examine various dental issues before they worsen.

Dental X-rays show:

• Cavities, especially small areas of decay between teeth or bellow existing fillings.
• Areas of infection(abscess ,cysts,tumors)
• Bone loss in your jaw
• The position of unerupted or impacted teeth.
• Cysts and some types of tumors.

X-rays  are useful to determine your eligibility for treatments like dental implants, braces or dentures and  to check healing aftercertain procedures such as dental bone grafts and root canal therapy.

For intraoral imaging we use  Radiovisiography ( RVG )which is the latest X-ray technology in dentistry and has minimum radiation exposure to the patient compared to conventional xrays.

For extraoral imaging have in house ortho Panto Gram ie OPG machine . A single OPG can be done to diagnose multiple issues like teeth impaction, fractures, dislocation, infection, tumours, sinuses . It has low patient radiation dose. It can be conveniently used in  patients. with limited mouth opening. Recommended in patients with severe gag during placement of RVG sensor. It is useful in planning  orthodontic treatment ,implant surgeries and other full mouth procedures.
